My favorite class was Dominique Pozzo's Literary Analysis class on a poem by René Char which lasted 2 hours.  Mr. Pozzo is a very charismatic and dynamic professor who mesmerized students and fostered discussion in French.  It was obvious that everyone loved Mr. Pozzo and wanted to participate in the interpretation of the poem.  Mr. Pozzo was very understanding and humorous making it  a pleasure to listen to him encourage students to provide explanations for the poem which he constantly connected to life in a brilliant way.
Another fascinating experience was the meeting I attended where students encountered an author who wanted to revive the Occitan language of the South of France.  Having met the author once before the students felt  relaxed with him and asked numerous interesting questions.

Another high point on the trip is the final project each student makes.  These presentations are related to their major.  They have one month to do their research, to write the report and present it.  Some students even go to a different city to do this task.  I interviewed two students, a man and a woman, to whom I asked what they liked and disliked about the program and why.  They loved the projects and field trips but found the course on Cultural Studies too fast moving.

Matt Green, the Director is very involved in the program and is assisted by a young woman who is equally devoted to the students.  They invite students into their home,  organize outings, listen to their problems and give them comfort when necessary.  I would recommend this program for students who like a non-

traditional setting, who can work independently and do not want to spend too much time studying Economics, Literature, Religion or Political Sciences.   It seems ideal for instance for students who want to minor in French or those who do not want to delve in any specific field.
